Title: help with folding beds
Post by: PopUpTrio on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
What suggestions do you all have for folding bunkends?  There is nothing in the owners manual regarding this and the dealer we bought from does not sell hybrids (he ordered ours) so they didn t know either.  We have a Trail Cruiser expandable.  The mattress is three joined sections ( 2 smaller, 1 large sewn together).  There are snaps to hold the bed to the frame but no bungees.

PopUpTrioMy Bantam is the Trail Crusier s little brother.

if you fold the matress from the inside that is easiest.
Put the u-bar either under the matress or sandwiched between the mattress folds. I sandwich the bar right before snapping, then I do not have to do more than lift the mattress enough to slip the bar in between the folds.
Snap the snaps, there should 2 sets of 2 tabs with snaps at the top of the door and then a snap on a long piece of fabric on each side. I thread these between the matress and the Bar.

Now I v-fold the tenting towards the middle and then roll towards the camper. I make sure that the gasket is clear of any folded fabric and lift up the door, hold it as I tighten the screwey thingy at the top.  Miraculously, this hold. I have to bend forward a little at the u-shaped dinette and the small dinette, is totally OK when folded.
 I love my hybrid!!!!
