I am looking for advice for an outdoor mat to use under the awning. I would like one that is very easy to clean, folds into a small space, and inexpensive. I have a Jayco Eagle8, so I do not need a very big mat. Thanks for your help![:)]
JonesFamilyJaycoAt $50.00, I wouldn t call them inexpensive, until you realize that they will last FOR YEARS and that they STAY CLEAN unless its muddy. And they they are easy to clean.

We have two and love them and wouldn t trade them for anything.

JonesFamilyJaycoI agree, the woven polypropylene mats are great. I think we paid $60 at an RV show for ours (large, covers the entire space under the awning).
It is very easy to maintain amd does fole into a very compact size. Much nicer than the " fake grass" rugs.
JonesFamilyJaycoMy patio mat is on order so I haven t used it yet, but a friend of mine has one and it is great. I ordered one from Camping World that was on sale. 9 x 12 for $44.07 if you are a member and shipping is $1.50. The sale price ends 03/16/03.
JonesFamilyJaycoHey guys, don t buy those woven poly mats at an RV show. Waaaaay too expensive. Dog show people use these all the time and they comes in all size, colors, pattern, etc and are much cheaper than what the RV places sell them for.
A 9 x 9 mat generally costs $25-30. There are larger and smaller sizes too. A good place to order from is www.PetEdge.com. They refer to them as exercise pen ground cover.
JonesFamilyJaycoThank you all for the information and on-line catalog sites. [:)] This will be the first thing I order to get ready for the spring camping season.
JonesFamilyJaycoHere is a link to these ground covers in one of the dog supply catalogues. They are lightweight, water goes right through them, you can sweep them off easily. If they get muddy I hang them up over a clothesline at home and hose them off!
Usually oriental designs althought some have geometric designs. Variety of colors.

JonesFamilyJaycoMost of the pet supply places don t have them larger than 9 X 9. Do a google search for " woven polypropylene mats" and you will find a number of other sources.
Use a 9 X 9 priced around $37 as a guage to see how the prices compare.
JonesFamilyJaycoI think we ordered ours through www.rvmat.com So far no complaints. We used the el-cheapos for a couple of years & decided we were tired of buying new ones each season.

JonesFamilyJaycoGuess I m a tightwad, but just can t see pouring more money into our camping experience. We use those $10.00 6x12 jobs from Home Depot. Of course, they re not in the " designer jeans" category, are a little thin, but clean easily and fold to just about nothing. Two seasons so far on ours and still looks pretty neat and keeps the sand and dirt out of the PU...and that s the name of the game.

BTW, notice how this thread runs so far out to the right? That s caused by that loooooooong link up above. Best way to do that is to enter the link so it shows up like this [link=http://www.patiomats.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cart=51&cat=1&PHPSESSID=b2f065e376af1333a765d1b825873056]patiomats[/link]
and the way to do that is to type your link as follows
{link=http://www.patiomats.com/etc...etc...etc}patiomats{/link}
You will notice that in the illustration I used the " { }" marks instead of the " [ ]" so it would show up. It s just as easy to do it this way and not cause the message to be so long and hard to read. Most everyone will appreciate it.
ps: You can even go back and edit your post and change it.

JonesFamilyJaycoFor the moment, we have the cheapy fake grass from Home Depot, but the back is disintegrating. My DH won t consider the polymats yets (" too expensive" ) but you can bet that once the fake grass camps its last trip, I ll be getting one of those poly mats. Oh and BTW, I d rather buy them from the PUT store, even if it costs more than from the dog supply places or CW. Just my way of showing my appreciation for all that Dave, Steve, and eveyone at PUT do for us here.[:)]
JonesFamilyJaycoWell, even without the Arvee discount it looks like the [link=http://www.popuptimes.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=P&Category_Code=New]Pop Up Times tore[/link] has all the prices beat.
BTW, I love my patio mat - Too bad I paid more at an RV show
JonesFamilyJaycoI recently got my 6 x 8 dog " exercise pen mat" (it looks JUST like the RV ones) for $21 from cherrybrook. item # 16-013

JonesFamilyJaycoHey Sandy. It looks just like the RV mats because it is the same, only CHEAPER!!! I am going to a show this weekend in Ocala and I m going to look for a new mat for my camper. We also use one inside in our Florida room on top of the vinyl flooring. Just roll it back and sweep under it. Take it outside and hose it off when it starts to look dirty! I hang it on the clothesline or over a fence and it dries in a few minutes.
Enjoy!
JonesFamilyJaycoHi Everyone,
We just got our mat from the PUT Store and it looks wonderful!
Great job of selection Dave!!
We can t wait to put it down on our next camping trip.
