Spent last weekend at Meridian, located 40 miles west of Waco. It s another small campground, located in a cedar forest. (We re mildly allergic to cedars!). It should properly be called " Meridi-Ant" State Park, due to the ants that refused to stay out of the camper. I was sitting at the camper table, and suddenly got bit by ants. What the heck? Where d these come from? There was a trail of them, leading back under the seat cushions. Turns out they were climbing up the stabalizer jacks!
The campsites are unremarkable. There are a set of pull throughs, and a set of back-in-to s. Restroom was old, and could use some maintenance. My wife reports them as being " buggy" .
What we liked was the 74 acre lake! Gorgeous, with big lily pads and grass around the edges. They also have a nice swimming beach there.
We also liked the looks of the primative site on the opposite shore. We may try dry-camping that location next spring.
RedwolfWe took a ride through Meridian on our way home from another park a couple of months ago. We were not impressed by any of the sites. It was a pretty lake and the road that runs along the shore and up the hill looked like it would be a nice walk in the fall.
