moderator1It kind of depends whether you want the price we paid for the pop-up or the total price with additions say in the first year! We paid about $3800. for ours in 1999, but 2 months later had a battery, furnace, etc installed at an additional cost of $450.00 or so!
Saw a USED 1999 Jayco Qwest 10 on sale on RVSearch for $5,000.00 doesn t seem like much of a bargain!

moderator1The selling price was $6999.99 so I just made it into the lower category.[:D]

angelsmom10We put a deposit toward $10,000 selling price on a very nicely loaded 2004 Centenial 3600 before taxes and registration.  We will make final payment on Thursday.  If the cotton picking snow will finish melting on the west side of our drive way (the spot where the trailer will be parked) we will also pick it up on Thursday.[:)]  If the weather doesn t cooperate, the dealer will keep our new baby a few more days until the snow melts and the ground firms up.[:@]

I was very surprised to see that the highest percentage of those answering the poll paid more that $10,000.  I mention that because I ve been told by several RV dealers around the country that pop-ups sales are declining while hybrids are increasing and can be bought for near or a little more than $10,000 while still having that open feeling of a pop-up.

moderator1When was the last time you priced them? I ve been to a number of dealers in the past 2 months and have yet to find one under $10,000. Admittedly, we re looking at some of the higher end units, but it seems the " magic"  number is about $11,000 for us, with what we want as far as size/features/options are concerned.

I wish the hybrids could dry camp better, because for a grand or two more you can get some pretty nice campers.

moderator1I must have a good dealer for prices.  They have the Bayside priced at $9,140 and the Niagara for $9,940.  The Monterey is only one over $10,000 and it is listed at $10,540.

moderator1Camping shows do wonders for pricing.[:D]  When we purchased our 2000 Bayside it listed for $13,000.  I got a show price of $9000. and they honored it.
But I must admit, I was surprised to see that the majority are in the over $10,000 category.  I thought most would be in the $3000 - 5000 range.

moderator1Our  03 Starcraft 2408 listed for $9,995, and that included an AAR, awning, furnace, fridge, hot water heater, and a few extra goodies that the dealer threw in.  We went to an RV show, and purchased it for just under $8,500, and that was from the original dealer that we had seen it at the first time.
