Title: What kind of campground hookups do you use?
Post by: AustinBoston on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
Assuming they are available, which of the above do you use while camping?  Check all that apply.

AustinBostonAt a minimum, I like W/E.  Sewer is nice if we can get it, so we don t have to hassle with the grey water tank, and DH is in 7th Heaven if there s cable!

AustinBostonWe use electricity if available and almost always in the Michigan winters.  Next week we will start camping for eleven days in three campgrounds.  Two will have electric hookups and one will not.
You left out something important to me altho I can get along without them,  flush toilets and large shower stalls.

AustinBostonWe use  em sometimes-mostly dependent on availability at the type of campground we choose to stay at.Some KOAs are fun-So are primitive sites at State & County parks.

AustinBostonWe will also occasionally spring for the sewer, if it is handy, is in a good site, and isn t too much. Once or twice we have occasionally gotten it free (we were charged for W/E site).

Flush toilets and large showers are not usually hooked up to your camper![;)]

AustinBostonWe use these because as hosts the Park supplies them to us.  The folks that hosted in the site before we had it had there employer put the phone line in for her (the company paid for it).  We paid to activate it so that we could have internet just because our daugther and grandchildren mostly live overseas and it is our way of staying in touch.  If we were paying we would mostly be interested in electric and water.

AustinBostonI posted other because it depends on the type of campground we use. Some are full hookups, some partial and sometimes nothing. Many of the California state parks either partial or no hookups. 4 of our trips this year have no hookups.

AustinBostonI checked off " Internet"  though I ve never been to a campground that has offered it! However, if such I ever wind up in such a place, then I d be glad to pay for the hook-up... Beats going to the office and using the modem port (after waiting in line)...

Gone-CampingI admit I have internet at the campground ( we re seasonal s for health reasons)
I was SO lost without the internet, I talked my wonderful DH into springing another 50 bucks a month for high speed cable for my laptop while camping
