Title: A little extra with the Designer
Post by: Mahaffey-Family on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
My husband and I looked our Jayco Designer over very good on Saturday.  We found a little something extra.  A small holding tank.  We can t find anything about the size.  Our dealer thinks it may be a 10 gallon, but not sure.  But, the good news is I don t have to buy a blue holding tank now .

Mahaffey-FamilyThat is a nice surprise.  Is it a black or grey water tank?  Is there a way to remove it to empty it or do you have to take the PU to the dump station to empty it?

Mahaffey-FamilyI just went over the Designer area on the Jayco website and couldn t find any mention of an extra tank..grey or black water. Only a mention of a portable grey water tank in the options. Is it removeable or fixed?

Mahaffey-FamilyIt is for grey water only.  Fixed.  You empty it like the travel trailers, hook-up your hoses then pull the handle to empty.  I was very happy to find this.  It isn t on the web or the books.

Mahaffey-FamilyIt would be nice to have, but 10 gallons isn t very big.  Can you bipass the tank and use a portable container or will you drain the on board tank into a portable tank?

Mahaffey-FamilyOk I am finally able to tell you that the grey holding tank on the Designer holds 15 gallons.  But there is a down side, it only holds the shower water, not the sink.  But, I didn t pay any extra for it so it doesn t matter to me.

Mahaffey-FamilyThat is still a nice extra.  You use more water with the shower so it is a good thing.
