Unfortunately, no one has heard from HorsCampr in a couple of years (September of '03 to be exact). I'll see if I can get someone to give you some real feedback.

Thank you for letting me know~guess I didn't look close enough to the posting. Thanks again
The Dells is a really nice place. There is a campground called Mirror Lake State Park, that is where we stayed everytime we went to the Dells. There is so much to do and see. There is a cool restaraunt called Paul Bunyons (mispelled) and the food is served family style at long tables lumberjack style. Its different but cool... :sombraro:
We also camped at Mirror Lake when we visited a few years ago. I've also heard good things about Devil's Lake (I think that's it). We drove through the Yogi campground - unless you really like all the amenities, it wouldn't be my choice. Too close to the interstate, small sites, etc. We also ate at Paul Bunyon's on the recommendation of a friend. We spent a good amount of time just exploring the countryside. I don't know anything about the horseback riding available, but I'm sure the state parks would be a good place to start in finding somewhere to camp.
What Jan said about Devil's Lake (that is right, Jan) ... I haven't actually camped there either, but I've heard really good things about it.[/FONT]
Devil's Lake State Park (http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/specific/devilslake/index.html) in Wisconsin Dells area.
Mirror Lake State Park (http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/regions/scr/mirrorlake.html) in Wisconsin Dells area. Aparently, Mirror Lake does not have the write-up like Devil's Lake does.

Is located in Portage WI 21 miles from dells. It is less crowded then the Dells in the summer.
We camped a Baraboo Hills Campgrounds last summer. We had a really nice time. Family-friendly but not crowded which is main critera. it is a little often the beaten path but we are use to traveling 15 mins to get anywhere so not bad.
Sky High was big fun. Nice pool and not far away. Book early, it fills up quickly for big weekends. Devils Lake was also fun, but not as many amenities. The campsight were also more of a challenge. We almost lost the camper down a hill while securing it.
Found this link awhile ago that has more information on Mirror Lake State Park and Devils Lake State Park.
