Any suggestions for camping in or around Wall South dakota ?  We will be there for a day on our way to Custer in July.

 Thanks

jpkeyesI think there are a couple of private campgrounds right there in Wall SD.  I haven t stayed at either one of them though.  You could probably find out more about them on the web.   Sorry I can t be of more help!   Mostly I camp at Forest Service campgrounds without electricity.

Also, there is a National Grasslands Visitor Center in Wall, SD.  I believe that there is camping in the National Grasslands, but it s like USFS where you can camp on federal ground, but there are no amenities (ie no hookups, no water, no outhouse).  So you may want to check out the private campgrounds in town instead.   Here s a link to the Visitor Center site - It says Nebraska in the name, but it really is located in Wall SD!!   Good luck!

jpkeyesThere are only 2 private campgrounds right in Wall SD. One is called Arrow campground, rates are between $13-$22 a night depending on hookup options.
The other is Sleepy Hollow Campground, rates are $17-$27 a night. They both are about 1 to 2 blocks away from Wall Drug. Both have pools and playgrounds.
 Arrow CG - 800-888-1361
 Sleepy Hollow - 605-279-2100

Majority of the land around Wall is Reservation Land so unless you go to Badlands National Park, there really isn t much to choose from. Hope this helps.
