Title: A chipmunk was in our trailer!
Post by: fivegonefishing on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
It was soooo funny!  Two weeks ago, a group of 5 families met in Eastern Ontario and enjoyed a wonderful weekend of camping, meeting friends, a pot luck and great weather.  We stayed at Murphy s Point Provincial Park just outside of Perth not too far from Ottawa.  I had booked to camp beside some of the best people I ve ever met (Don and family) and our four boys loved the freedom to run through 100 feet or so of the semi-forested area between our sites.  Well at one point on Sunday my one son informed up there was a chipmunk in our trailer, seems someone forgot to close the door, Amy and I were laughing so hard, my husband would not let me get the camera as he was trying to shew the little critter out.  After the chipmunk checked out the couch and bunk end he left without incident.

This park is a wonderful place and if you get the chance, spend a night or two.

fivegonefishingWhere we camp there s always a few of them around. We took a bag a sunflower seeds one weekend and had a lot of fun with them climbing all over us for the seeds. Problem was on the way home we kept smelling funny smells. Come to find out the little beggers used the hollows on our intake manifold as sunflower seed storage.[:D]
While the chippy s are nice, there s also red squirrels around that get obnoxious. One we feed decided at about 5am that it was time for breakfast and we woke up to him holding on to the middle of the screen chattering away at the top of his voice to feed him.
