Well, we decided to take the DS to Sea World before some surgery today. We went to Kerrvile-Schriener SP. It was very nice, with alot of deer around. Well it started out when I was setting up the camper...stretched the canvas over the king bed and low and behold, a 8" tear in the canvas at the seam near the tent end support bar. [:@] Had to duct tape that for the night. Then a major storm hit around 3am and shook the trailer and woke up all three of us. Storm included high winds and hail.[:o] Went back to sleep and got up in the morning to a cloudy and muddy day. Went to shower and DS came running in and told me that the camper had water all over in it from under the bench. I told him to turn off the water and the water heater. I checked it out and the water heater had sprung a pretty good leak on the opposite side of the hose connections. [:@]I did not take it apart yet to see what damage there is, I figure I could bypass the HWH until I get a change to dive into that.
Does anyone have any idea if the tenting could be repaired? I have the Evolution 3 tenting still. It is in good shape and has not dried out yet. I really would hate to replace all the tenting. Also any ideas on the water heater?
I have thought about looking for another camper that I could use for parts too.[;)]
Once we got to Sea World, Fathers Day turned out much better.[:)]
JimiJam44We bought an older Coleman PU and my husband immediately ripped out the zipper on one of the windows. Took it to a canvas shop (they normally spend their time making TPs) and they sewed a new zipper into that old fabric (also Evolution 3). No problems with the repair so far and that was over a year ago. Good luck!
you know, after re-reading my message - I m wondering how in the heck to spell TP?? teapea? teepee? ha ha.... obviously I don t know!

I found someplace that can fix the canvas. And it was only about $40.[:D] I got the water heater bypassed for now and am searching for one to replace it with. While I was doing all this work, I decided to do a few mods too.
Our stepper light has never worked since we got the trailer and while I had the water heater out, I could trace the wire a little better...found it pinched by the right rear support arm. I cut it loose and spliced it back together and now we have light.
I just finished installing two jacks in the overhead lights for the new fans I got at Walmart...replaced the cigarette lighter ends with the phone jack plug and now have great powerful fans in the bunkends.
Also found a unused 12V plug under the bench seat and put in a 12V plug with that...I am just unsure where I want to mount it at the moment. Not sure where the " best place" would be.
