angelsmom10The main problem with a normal house oven is the height. The chicken is standing on end so it requires quite a bit of vertical clearance.
There are litteraly hundreds of variations, but they all start with a chicken and a can. As the name implies the can goes up the back end of the chicken and the chicken sits on the can vertically when cooking.
Now the variation starts. Full sized can; can cut in half. We had it with beer in the can, coke, chicken broth, any of the aforementioned liquids with any number of herbs and spices.
The premise behind the recipe is the chicken gets basted internally from the liquid in the can and any flavors you add just make it better.

A couple of our favorites are broth with rosemary & garlic cloves, and italian dressing.

angelsmom10I realize about the height, the size of chicken we have and the size of our oven, it would fit.  I just wanted to know the oven setting and the time.  I found it on a website a few weeks ago about how you can do it in an oven, now I can t find the site.  [:o]  [:o]  [:o]

angelsmom10My DH fixed beer butt turkey for Thanksgiving last year.  It was wonderful.  The way he solved the problem of the height was instead of opening the can, he punched holes along the side and inserted it holes up.  Worked great, and it was extremely moist.
