GuestHey Mikey and Family! Have you posted here before and I missed it?? Unfortunately, GSM x2 is working the entire weekend so there will be no camping for us. [:(] However, Lake Casistas is only 8 miles from our place, so maybe we ll take a run up there to say " hello" . That, and dinner at Boccali s, sounds like an excellent plan!
Guestgonna pop up in the back yard, watch fireworks and eat BBQ. [8D]Just like it was meant to be....

GuestI have posted in some place asking how to join the club. I did get a reply but couldnt understand what to do.
I did note somewhere in sc on our family. lol, just don t know where I did it.
Would be nice if ya popped in for a hi hi and cold drink. We are fun folk who are new to camping with pop ups but not new to camping. Im a fisherman and the wife is just as nice as you could find. My son is a boy who is " a boy" kinda like denis the menice with all the rocks and sticks and who knows what is in his pants pockets. hahahaha. But as polite as can be.
Hope to maybe see someone.

GuestI wish we were going camping. We had resevations at Campland but decided to work on the house instead. If Casitas was a little closer we would drop in too. Hope the weather isn t too hot. The waterpark is a lot of FUN!!
Mikey, have you checked out any of our upcoming rally s? Would love to meet you and your family.

GuestWe will be going to Newport Dunes Thurs-Mon! Hope everyone has a great holiday!
GuestWe re going to Vail Lakes Resort! I m so excited. We re leaving tomorrow and coming home on Sunday afternoon.
They have all kinds of activities planned. The kids are all excited because they re doing a bike parade on Friday with prizes for the most patriotic-decorated bike. We went to Party City today and they each spent about $8.00 of their own money to buy decorations! I think they must believe there s a cash prize!!!
Wish y all were coming. We ll have lots of fun with our buds, but it s just not the same as camping with the SCCampers!

Mikey and Family,
That was me that replied to you. Sorry you didn t understand what to do to join. If you are going to be around Saturday after 5:00, G-Whiz and I can stop by and give you the scoop directly. Do you have a VCR in your camper? If so, we ll bring the NNC video, which pretty much explains SCC, which is a spinoff from NNC. What time would be convenient for you? I work until 4:00 and we can swing by Casitas either before or after our dinner at Boccoli s.

GuestWe drove up to Lake Casitas this evening to meet Mikey and his family. We were on our way to a " date" in Ojai, so didn t stay to long. However, we were long enough to know that Mikey and Family are definitely SCCampers material. Their son makes camping friends easily. His wife (the none-computer user) said she likes to " hang around with people who have fun." That sounds like us. [:)] And Mikey himself does all the cooking when kamping. We can t wait to have them join us at a future rally.
gsm x2 and G-Whiz (advance SCCamper scouts)
GuestOH BTW--I still didn t give him any clue on how to be a member. Guess that they ll just have to come to a rally and find out. And BTW....Mikey s wife has a beautiful name....more unusual than Georgeanne even.

GuestWell, we just got home from VLR, and as expected, we had a wonderful time, but we missed you all a whole lot! David and I kept saying, " these people are fun, but they just don t know how to camp!"
It was really crowded and the temp was over 100 most of the time, but the pool was great and David got to try out his newest " invention;" misters that he made from sprinkler parts! I don t think I ever moved from the misters the whole weekend!
Everyone was totally impressed with the Peach Cobbler and Erik s breakfast " concoction." I think at least 2 of them stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home to pick themselves up a DO! I told them they ll have to come to a rally now to get the CD of recipes for themselves!
Well, it s off to do laundry and finish unpacking. Looking forward to meeting Mikey and the unnamed (but beautifully so) wife and son!
Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th!
Blessings,
Tracy and David

Welcome home Tracy and David! Mikey and wife, Dalisa (not sure of the spelling) have a soon to be 10-year-old son also. They are looking forward to some group camping. I think they will be pleasantly surprised at our group. I m not sure I even remember how to camp without our group. [;)] I also know that Mikey does the cooking while camping and I ll bet he ll enjoy a DO seminar!!! I think he signs on as " guest" and when I see him post again, I ll make sure that he finds his way to this section of the boards. Glad you made it home safe and sound on this busy weekend!
GuestHey everybody -
Just wanted to say " Hey" - we are getting ready for our 17-day pop-up vacation. We leave on Friday. We picked up a Dutch Oven for the trip; after that meal at Vail Lakes, how could we not? Costco has a set with a 9 qt. DO, an iron skillet, an iron griddle, and a carrying case all for 29.99. Wow, couldn t pass that one up.
Anyway, we re heading out to Big Bear (Hanna Flat) for 2 nights, then Pyramid Lake for 4 nights, then Yosemite Lakes for 6 nights, and finally Jalama Beach for 4 nights. Now that is what I call a camping trip.
If anyone has any outstanding DO recipes for us to try on the trip, send em our way! It sounds like there will be some camping going on while we are gone as well, so we wont feel too guilty as we lounge in the sun.......
Cheers!

GuestHello everyone,
We had a wonderful time even tho it was hot hot hot. We had a super nice couple stop by and visit us on Saturday. gsm x2 and g-whiz, exceptionaly nice people who we would love to meet up with again. We did view the video after our un-packing and loved what we saw. Count on us to become part of the family.
As for the DW- her name is DeLisa.
I sure hope your " date" dinner was as good as ours. We wished that you had stayed for a camp meal with us, but I understand that the " date" was your personal time.
We are looking at some of the times set up for camping. We saw the July trip and that looks like a perfect time to go again. Just don t know if it is booked as yet.
Sooooo,
Again, thank you for the kind visit and also the welcomes from the others.
Just point me in the proper direction for joining/signing up with the Sccampers.
Mikey and Family.

Hey Mikey and Family! Our " date" was fabulous. We had to wait 45 minutes for a patio table. As always tho, it was totally worth the wait. It was just the perfect evening.
Now let s talk about " joining" . There is no need to " join" the Sccampers group. You just show up at a gathering (doesn t even have to be a " formal" rally) and you are in. Well, except for the initiation that Griffsmom, Dee4j, Chezway, Tracy and David, Old Moose and Young Moosette (to name a few) will put you through! [;)]
If you want to join PopUp Times and get access to everything the site has to offer, then click on the word REGISTER. I see they even have a trial membership so you can see if you like it. When you join PUT you get your own nickname rather than posting under " guest" . Personally, I think the $30 annual fee is totally worth it and I m sure others can back me up on that.
Glad you had a good time camping. It was fun meeting you and the family. I m sure that one of these days we will show up at the same campground on the same day! [:D]

Hi Randy & Kerry! Have a GREAT time. Sounds like a fantastic family vacation and one that will most likely have wonderful memories for all. Enjoy and lounge to your hearts content! [:D]
GuestMikey & Family, welcome to the boards. We look forward to meeting you at one of our rally s. We were camping in a house for a week in the Sierra s about an hour from Yosemite. Not sure when we can go camping again due to a possible house purchase in the Sierra s in Twain Harte. We have to do some fire abatement which means raking and tree cutting. We will probably have to take some long weekends this fall to do this.

I was wondering when you guys were leaving for you trip. I just wanted to let you know we were thinking of you and to have a GREAT time!!
Have you ever stayed at Hanna Flat in Big Bear? Kendra s girl scout troop stays there every year. It is a nice place. Very rustic, no hookups but in a beautiful setting. Definately a place to go if you want to get away from the Big Bear crowd.
Have a safe trip, and can t wait to see the pictures when you return.

OK, something weird happened there. Anyway, Randy, try Moose s recipe for Kampers Stroganoff, it was in the papers he gave us at the seminar. We have made it twice and both times have come home with an empty kettle. Very easy and Very yummy.
GuestHey Flinders Family,
Your camping plans sound fantastic. Have a wonderful trip!
Mikey and DeLisa,
You are welcome to join us at the Casitas trip in August if you are interested. We will be there with the Darksiders. Check the post from Dee4j because she is trying to get rid of her reservation for both the campsite and the waterpark.
GuestAnd just to show Mikey and DeLisa that nothing other than showing up is necessary to be a member of SCCampers, check out http://sccampers/members/ They are listed.
As a reminder to everyone, if you submit a short bio of your camping (in 106 words or less) and then answer these three questions , we ll post it up on an information page.
The best thing about camping is:
I enjoy camping with the SoCal PopUp Campers because:
If I knew then what I know now, I would:
Welcome to the group.
Randy and Kerry---very nice itinerary. Different areas for a number of nights each. Enjoy enjoy enjoy.

Hey everyone!
Thanks for all of the warm wishes as we prepare for our 17 day pop-up experience.
Jacqui - I wasn t at the seminar, so do you think you could email be the Stroganoff recipe? ( Randy@flindersfamily.com ) It sounds great and I wanna try it!
Lori - If you re reading this, (and I know that you are....[;)]), can you email me the Chicken Pot Pie (aka Chicken N Dumplins[:D]) recipe as well. That one was yummy and I am thinking I should give it a try.
And, i can t go on such a long trip without buying some gadget for the trailer. What to buy, what to buy? Hmmmmmm............
How about a A BAL leveler? Been wanting one of those for a while..... Gonna try it out this Friday! Gotta have new toys!
(raises his beer)
Cheers!
