Title: Tire load limits @ inflation pressures
Post by: Jeffrey on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
Someone[;)] in a chat wondered about how much trailer tire inflation effected the load it would carry. And I found a chart in an old magazine.

But now I found a similar chart online.

IMO, It s amazing how fast the load limit drops when your tires are under-inflated.

JeffreyPlease note that Goodyear says that these specs on inflation/load rating are only for use with Goodyear tires.
Goodyear also states that while the load rating is correct for the pressures listed other factors contribute to whether reducing tire pressure is acceptable and to follow the trailer manufacturers specification as to inflation pressures.
Also that the smallest tire is the 13 inch size, so folks with smaller sizes as well as 13 inch load range D tires are out of luck.
