It looks like I m only weeks away from becoming AustinBoston North of Minneapolis.
PJay and I flew out to Minneapolis Thursday and spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a realtor doing house shopping. We started with a list of about 350 that we narrowed down to about 50. Then we cut that to 28, and business cut that to about 20 (some sold, a few were off the market). In three days we looked at about 16 of those.
We narrowed it down to two. They were very similar, with similar prices, neighborhoods, floorplans, etc. We chose one of them (the one without the 1970 s avocado green kitchen...something about momma being happy) and put an offer on it Sunday afternoon. Four BR, 2 Bath, in Ham Lake, MN.
Monday, we got on the plane to come home. It was PJay s birthday (she s 29...with a 20 YO daughter [;)]!). When we finally arrived in Boston, DD had left a message that we needed to call our realtor and that our current house in Massachusetts was sold!
PJay called the realtor. Cash, no mortgage. [:)] No home inspection. [:D] No other contingencies. [8D] How soon can we close? [8D][8D][8D]
Eleven years ago, I bought PJay a house for Christmas. We closed and moved in on Christmas Eve. Now that it s time to move, we sold it on her birthday.
I told her it would be a roller coaster ride. We re over the top, [:o] on our way down, [:o] and waiting for the curve at the bottom. [:o] [:o] [:o]

tlhdocI founf the town on my maps & streets program, right north of Minneapolis ! I hope it is a house they will be happy with and I hope they get it and the relocation goes withour any issues.
I am sure he will invite me , I promise to bring the Potti :) and MOAT to house it in :)

I am so close to Boston right now that it feels like being in the city. PJay refers to Stoughton as a city even though it is officially a town. Ham Lake is about as far north of St. Paul as Stoughton is south of Boston. It s all a matter of perspective.
I do think I ll need a snowblower, though.

That is simply not true ! [8D] We are celebrating AB s move !
AB, in Canada, when you put an offer, it is usually till midnight of that day, and then only conditional on financing and inspection. The vendor has to let you know almost immediately, or your offer is void. Is that not the case in USA ? or are you waiting for the other two items ?

Congrats to you both. Hope the move will be easy. At least you won t have to worry about owning two houses.[:)] Your timing was just right. And, with interest rates lower than in 40 years, it s a great time to invest in real estate. (Money isn t making much interest in the bank but real estate is a great investment.)
As for Minnesota, y all don t want a tape on " How to Speak Minnesotan?" do you? (Anyone who is now laughing is a giveaway that you heard the tape.) I ll keep an eye out for your answer. LOL!
