Who will win the war between Fleetwood Vs Coleman
birolBoy, did I miss a big news story????[8D][8D]
Finally read the article.....I think it will be a Coleman win! But who really wins are the consumers..now they can get back to the quality that Coleman has been famous for...JMNSHO
birolLawyers will win (always d0[:@][: (]) but Coleman isn t going any where.
birolAll Coleman needs to do is ask unhappy Fleetwood customers to come into court and testify how Fleetwood is hurting the Coleman name.

I wish FW would just go away and make everyone happy .... Why do corporations act so immature ??? Surely they can produce Fleewood Popups and still make money. [8D]
biroli am confused...fleetwood owns colman and colman is mad cuz fleetwood stuff is trash???? this is the jist i get from these msgs...didn t read any article.
birolJust prior to Fleetwood building Colemans, Coleman popups were on their way out. The units for the most part could not compete. The original agreement gave Fleetwood 5 years to improve the product and sales which they did. This is shown by 50% of popup owners having a Coleman. Since Coleman and Fleetwood made it past the first 5 years I thought they were set for life but I ll guess again. Coleman will win and find someone else to make a popup for them.

No, Fleetwood Folding Trailers " licences" (i.e. rents) the name Coleman for use on folding trailers.
The Coleman brand name is owned by a company named American Hosehold (formerly know as Sunbeam).
Coleman sold the folding trailer division to Fleetwood in 1986 and at that point licenced the name to FFT to continue using.
Isn t this clear as mud[:D]??
birolnah...better clear then that...kinda like clear as murky water. [;)]
well lets see...forest river has rockwood, flagstaff and now palamino...will coleman be that farther down the line????

Tim I think it was in 1989.
birolYes, it was 1989.
This is going to be an interesting foray. There have been several company acquisitions/trades/mergers/buyouts/whatever you wanna call it, over the past couple of years.
Tune in next week/month year...Will the Coleman name be bought by Rockwood/Flagstaff? Will it be bought by Jayco? What a blockbuster company that could be!
Or maybe Coleman is suing Fleetwood because the new 2004 s with the trunks are UGLY!
