Can anyone give me any insight, review, etc. on the Meadows of Dan campground in Virginia?

 Thanks!

 vjm1639Well I must admit, not a very informative [link=http://www.meadowsofdancampground.com/]Campground Website[/link].

Looks nice from the few pictures they have.

This is very close to [link=http://www.rjranchrvresort.com/]the RJ Ranch Resort[/link] where we had the 2003 rally.

This is a very beautiful area.  If you like wine, I recomend stopping by [link=http://www.thedogs.com/]Chateau Morrisette[/link] while you are in the area.

vjm1639LOL...yep, that s what I thought about their website. I had read a really nice review of their campground on a site...well..someone saying it was really nice and clean.  But..from the website, it doesn t " look"  spacious and private. It looks like rows of camping spots (which I hate!!!)    I like trees around me and privacy.   We have seen several others in the area.  RJ just seems to have a little too muchon the amenity side...and at $31 a night regular price is quite pricey for 9 nights when the going rate on the others is between 19 -23..  We have no kids left at home, just us and the pooch now, so we are really looking for a nice, peaceful place but very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway as that s really where most of our time will be spent. I DO plan on going to Chateau Morresette. It s one of the first tents I go to at our big Virginia wine festivals in the spring and fall!  LOL... They are one of my favorite Virginia Wines.

mess5719The color of the water in the water slide picture is due to the silt from the lake.  The water slide uses lake water for it s operation.  I thought the same thig at first, but after you ride it your hooked.

Plus, you really dont go under the water on the slide, so I didn;t worry about it that much.

The pools on the other had were beautiful
