Has anyone been there and if so can you tell me a bit about the campgrounds and which site(s) I should strive to get?
Thanks
Jennifer
JemJen24Well, Bonham State Park was a rather nice surprise! A small park, it only hosts about 12 water/electric sites and 8 tent sites. A nice, clean, small lake has a swimming deck & beach, a fishing pier, and sand volleyball (and horseshoes). Miles and miles of hiking/biking trails are also available. Sites are gravel, pretty level, and mostly shady. Fire pits and rings are at each site.
This is a quaint little State Park that we will surely visit again. Because of it s small size, we never found lines to the showers, loud neighbors, or any traffic. Bathrooms were exemplarily clean and new though not airconditioned.
On a scale of 1-10, I d have to rate this little park a sure 7. If it had a few more playground features, soda machines, a park store, or ice/firewood available, I d rate it a 8.
You can see pics and more info on our website under the Camping Database.
