Title: Crocodile Clips
Post by: tlhdoc on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
The zipper on my awning bag went bad and I don t have time to get it fixed between trips so I purchased a pack of Crocodile Clips to keep my bag closed.  They work great.  The clip has a collar that slides along the clip and locks in place so the clip can not open.  You have to push a button to open the clip.  I found them at Wal-Mart where the towing stuff is.  4 in a pack.  Here is a link for them.

tlhdocYa know, I have some of those and was thinking of using them on my PopUpGizmos bunk end covers instead of the orange clips that appear to be rusting a bit.  I wasn t sure how well they would hold or if they are a pain.  If they hold your awning bag closed, I think they can handle the bunk covers!

I guess I ll have to give them a try on our next trip to Raystown lake in 1.5 weeks!  [:D]

tlhdocI have some of those in my tool box. I replaced the Popup Gizmos clips with bigger ones as the Gismos blew off in high wind. I end up using 5 of the bigger clips on each Gismos. I also stapled Velco to the inside of the roof and put the opposite side on the Gizmos. It was pressure sensitive Velco, but I needed to staple it to the roof with 1/4"  staples, as it kept coming off. It really speeds up the set up.
