I need recommendations folks. I think I may be taking the camper up for a three night stay next month. Two nephews have discovered a fantastic educational opportunity at a university there, but naturally want to check it out first. I thought I would take them up to check things out and haven't decided yet if the pocket book can handle hotel rooms for that long. We'll be looking for a site with hookups, and nice showers, but otherwise it will just be home base while we roam the town and surrounding areas, and check out the campus.
This is late but for anyone else interested: I would recommend Clinton Lake. It's close to Lawrence and beautiful, with good accomodations (showers, etc.)>
