Title: Hey - did the groundhog see his shadow??!!
Post by: Acts 2:38 girl on Feb 02, 2004, 03:16 PM
Does anybody know if the Groundhog saw his shadow?  DS needs to know for school tomorrrow?  Thanks for any info!
OK, found my answer on //www.grounghog.com -

 I'm glad I live in this luxurious burrow on the Knob
and not in a dirty, smelly spider hole like a slob.
When I come out I don't want to negotiate;
But to just do my job and prognosticate.

Today because my shadow I see,
six more weeks of winter there will be."

man...bummer... :(  :rolleyes:  :(

Yep, he saw his shadow, and that means 6 more weeks of winter.  All the other groundhogs around here saw their shodows too.  I think they said that for the 119 times they have been doing this, the groundhog has seen his shadow 86 times.  Hey, it is winter in the northeast.:eek:

We don't have any ground hawgs around here so I guess the folks in the other states will get all the winter weather the next 6 weeks.  It's going to be upper 50s to low 60s around here the next couple of days.  I saw a TT being towed up US 15-501 north of Pinehurst today.  It looked like the happy couple was taking their big Flagstaff off on a trip.  I wished I was going instead of staying here at work.

But there is also a groundhog that they use in Atlanta and he didn't see his shadow.  I hope the Atlanta one is right!

No, I am not a member of BMWCCA.I may have to look into that.  But I was a member of the Sports Car Club of America when I was much younger....my Daddy bought me a 1966 MGB, and boy was he a beauty. I named him Auster. I did do a little competitive course racing and was not too bad at it.  We had alot of fun with that club.
Thanks for the offer of answering questions, I may have to ask some time.:)
Do you have a Beamer?

We also have a Groundhog, which I am tempted to grill and eat after it sees its shadow ! Seriously now who really believes that a groundhog can predict how bad the winter will continue to be !   :J  :J
