Calif. Officials Nearly Fall for H2O Hoax
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - City officials were so concerned about the potentially dangerous properties of dihydrogen monoxide that they considered banning foam cups after they learned the chemical was used in their production.
Then they learned, to their chagrin, that dihydrogen monoxide
Typical California. Everyone ready to ban something with no research data to back up some nut's claim.
There is at least one "industry" site that opposes the ban on Dihydrogen Monoxide. They list many ositive features of DHMO and also explain why they prefer the term "Hydroxyl Acid" over "Dihydrogen Monoxide"
But the ones who really take the cake are the Bretharians, who oppose consuption of any food or water at all, claiming to live on only air and sunlight:
