You know we always camped in family campgrounds, never felt a worry of danger, yet I could never go to sleep unless I locked the popup door. I know with the tent ends, etc., anyone could get in if they tried, but really what are the odds. Yet, there I was flipping the little latch before going to sleep!
Yep, I lock the door at night, too. Not so much for security as just a habit.
Yes we lock it to. :p
More so the little ones don't get out than anything else. Yes, we lock ours too...
Nope, just make sure latch is secure. Not even sure if there is a lock on the inside. I'm sure there is, I just don't use it.
When we first began using the popup, Peggy would lock the door every night. But, once finding out that bears don't understand the opening & closing of doors, she stopped. My father always said that doors have locks to keep out the honest people. ;)
We lock ours because of the little ones.
Nope, never felt a need to.
Sure do. Silly, huh? :J
Nope. Kind of like a tent, can't lock that.
Yelp...always.
Yes we do
We do, seems silly but then again if someone wanted to sneek in the first thing they are likely to do is try the door.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Depends on the mood and the surroundings, but DW and DD's always do.
Yes we do, besides the handle lock there is an "extra" little wing thingy that I use also to lock the door. Of course once Dh had the pop up keys and I walked all the way back to the pop up from the pool.../I just un did the velcro around the door and reached in...Just as anyone else could do....
That's interesting, I haven't thought of that yet. Tonight will be my first night in the new pop-up and actually my first night ever in a pop-up! As soon as I get off work we are headed out. I will let you know about the locking thing ;)
Well I don't, but my wife does.
Moose
We lock the door so that the dogs can't accidently open it at night.

"Accidently" is not a word I would use. We have already caught Natasha pushing on the door handle with her nose. She understands how it should open, just hasn't pushed hard enough yet.
So yes, we lock it at night.
I do. Why I don't really know...just false "Peace of Mind" I guess. I even used to lock the door on my tent :) with a bread twister through the zippers...LOL I know LYAS! I figured that way at least I would hear someone rip the canvas if they were coming into get me!!!!
Hey you have to cover all your bases!
Yes, we lock ours, although anyone can just open the canvas and reach in and unlock.
We lock the door just in case the kiddies get up first, not really to keep anybody out.
I said I'd report and no, I didn't lock it :p
Dave,
Yes, with an alarm system and other goodies.
We do lock it, but I'm not sure why. I guess we think it would be harder for someone to get in if they had to go through the canvas... Just a habit, I guess....
Zooey
I used to when I had the PU (and still do with the Hybrid). The way I figured it, if someone really wanted to get in they could, but I'm a light sleeper and might sleep through the door gently being unlatched, but I'll wake up at the sound of the velcro being undone!!
For me, it was plain and simple...peace of mind! Still is for the most part, though if anyone wanted into the Hybrid, they'd have to crawl over one of us in the bunk ends....you know that aint gonna work!!! :D
Nope, don't lock it..that might slow down the late night trips to the bathroom with unfortunate consequences :p
I always lock the door - I guess I just feel more secure. I figure if someone tried to get in I would hear something and wake up - then I'm not sure what I'd do - use the pepper spray, I guess!!.
The door should be locked but in case it doesn't get locked, be sure not to wake up the bear that sleeps in my camper. ;) :D :Z

Don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure you aren't that bad. ;) :p
Hehehehe. I wasn't talking about my being the bear sleeping in the camper. ;) :D :J :Z
We (I :D ) also lock ours at night. I guess because it somebody was trying to get in I know that, (being a light sleeper) would also wake up. Now, what would I do? No clue! I guess a blood-curdling scream in the middle of the night in a campground might bring a few people running. This is besides the nice, strong DH who sleeps beside me!!;)
It is also to wake me up in the morning when the kids try to go out before we wake up!
