We are camping with two other families this weekend and DH wants to make lasagna in the dutch oven for the Saturday night pot luck. We camn't find any dutch oven recipes and he's thinking he'll just use the recipe he uses at home.
Yes, DH does the majority of the cooking at home, cooking for me is calling Domino's!
Thanks in advance,
Tena

From the forum of the International Dutch Oven Society (IDOS). There are two recipes in this link, both are for making lasagna with dried noodles without having to cook the noodles first, which makes it easier.

Here is an idea for your DH. Get a Stouffer's lasagna and cut it round to fit in the dutch oven. The people you are camping with will be amazed at how quick and easy the preparation and cooking time are. Be sure to hide the package well so nobody sees it. You could also see if your mother-in-law could loan you her precious pressure cooker so that you can cook it to a dry perfection worthy of charcoal in less time than ever.
Your dear brother-in-law(DBIL) :D
Entirely too funny!
Actually, I used the Joy of Cooking recipe I always use, except we added about 8 ounces of water and put the noodles in dry. It cooked about 90 minutes on the tripod, starting rather low and then pulling up to a simmer. We avoided the charcoal route.
The lasagna, plus an 18" rainbow trout I ran across Saturday morning, were the hit of the dinner. I also made blueberry pie that reminded me of up north.
I'll send you a trout photo to your e-mail.
Cheers,
Dave
