Hi guys, I need some advise. We are going to a graduation party in a few weeks for a friend of mine that is graduating from Nursing School. Now what do I get for a present for her. She is in her 40s, married with kids. Do I just bring the usual bottle of Champagne or does anyone have any creative suggestions. I am at loss.... Thanks, Karen

My mom is a nurse, and she really likes gift certificates she can use to buy scrubs, or I buy her scrubs when I find them on sale etc. I have also given her nurse themed cookie bouquets, and a teddy bear dressed as a nurse. I've also found many nice poems etc related to nursing, published them with graphics etc on the pc, and then matted and framed them, and she really enjoys those.
The teddy bear is from teddy bear workshop, and vermont teddy bears also allows you to design a customer bear online and then ship it. She keeps her at work in her office.

I like the framed diploma idea. Also, the gift certificate for scrubs isn't a bad idea. She probably already has scrubs (impossible to become a nurse without first having them), but they wear out, trust me!
As for things like name tags, the hospital/workplace will provide them. They don't use the old fashioned engraved ones much anymore. REAL ID is needed.
Also, she needs to select her OWN stethoscope, so let her do that (or help her buy a nice one). I had a nice one while in school, so I didn't need one when I graduated.
It sounds sorta corny, but I think support stockings are the best thing since sliced bread. I wear them almost every day. Makes my legs and back feel so much better. Around $15-20 per pair for men's.

They make MEN's socks like this, that only go up to the knee. In all seriousness, if you spend much time on your feet at work, they are the BOMB!
