Title: Quechee Lake (VT) State Park
Post by: garym053 on Jun 08, 2004, 08:44 AM
Even though it's only 30 minutes from home, we had never stayed here until Memorial Day weekend. The campground is beautiful! Large sites, great staff, lots of tall pines, nice hiking trails, CLEAN bathrooms and showers!
The one drawback is noise from busy Rte 4, and the Quechee Gorge shops! Night 2 there was some sort of alarm going off most of the night at one of the shops. The alarm could be heard throughout the campground, even by me above the noise of my CPAP, which usually replaces almost all noise with "white noise"!

Gary,
I took the C-Pap camping for the first time. The first night I didn't sleep so well but that happens all the time. The second nightwas great. I'm looking for a nice cg in southern Vt. for this weekend. Any Ideas????

Thanks for the review, we will have to try this one, as we live fairly close by as well, in Bristol (VT).

Southern Vermont? How about Molly Stark?
We're staying there over Father's Day weekend. Hope to paddle Harriman Reservoir and Sadawga Pond, as well as visit some of the places that my wife's family lived in or near!

There's also Fort Dummer in Brattleboro, VT.

Over on the west side o' the state, there's Lake Shaftsbury, Woodford, or Emerald Lake. These are all state parks, which are what my wife and I prefer, but we haven't stayed in any of these yet!!!

Gary,
Are you saying you also have not stayed in Molly Stark? I will check it out.Too bad we can't make it on Father's Day. We have a wedding that day. June is full except for this coming weekend. So many showers and weddings and stuff. I was also thinking of trying Bald Mountain.
Paddling around the reservoir sounds great. Have fun and thanks for the info.
