Title: Gateau Chocolat
Post by: oldmoose on Jun 28, 2004, 09:42 PM
Here's a recipe that I cooked at our left coast rally. It's a family favorite.

Gateau Chocolat

Cake Ingredients

4 eggs                                                              4 Squares semi-sweet chocolate coarsely grated

This sounds WONDERFUL, but you make this while camping!? :yikes: Wow!

I'm going to make this at HOME some day.  :D

Camping with oldmoose and young moosette is kinda like hanging out in the kitchen of a five-star hotel: You get to see a team of real masters at work as they create sinfully delicious meals while making it look easy enough for the rest of us mere mortals to give it a try.

And I'll vouch for the WONDERFUL taste! (insert licking lips smilie here)

It's funny, but while camping with my friends, they think what I do is amazing.  Of course, I think those people never cook at home, let alone when camping.

If I pulled off a desert like this while camping, I think we'd never camp alone again -- everyone would always want to join us and expect me to perform all the time!  :-()

I was very helpful to have full hookups to use the electric mixer. If I want to do this dry camping, I's just plug it into my generator. Be sure to refrigerate the iced cake for at least a couple of hours. I had to rearange our trailer frig to get it in.

Ab Diver is too kind. You should have tasted his wonderful abalone.
