Just saw this article. A new Camping World store is coming to North Carolina. For those of you that don't know, Statesville is north of Charlotte.

Oh maaaaan! Bass Pro Shop in Concord and now Camping World in Statesville? Guess it's one way to avoid Myrtle Beach!
Thanks homecrew...... I think;)
MY husband has alerted the people at BassProShops/Sportsmans' Warehouse of Atlanta that if I even pull into their parking lot they are to arrest me immediately! And the Cabelas in Monroe Mich knows he has an APB out on me for printing my own money so they wont let me in either.
Sportsmans' Warehouse my foot! They should call it Fools' Paradise :J
I wish we had a camping world close to where we live. It is over 3 hours from here and I have to drive by Phila. to get to it. :(
I saw the sign for the new Camping World on my way back from Florida.
I saw a new sign put up on HWY. 544 (on the south end of Myrtle Beach,S.C.)for Camping World. The only problem with that is I will be able to walk to it from my house!!

Are they building a new one or is the sign for the existing Camping World? I know the Bass Pro shop just recently opened down there.
UH-OH. I can see the AP headlines now: "Police Warn NC Citizens to Beware of Strange Cult--motley group seen wearing T-shirts that say PUT and carrying tin cups, begging along the highways.".

This is a second location. The Holiday Camper sales and service is at this location (near the Wal-mart on Hwy. 544) Cannot figure out if Camping World will build or remodel the building already there. The
Camping World you are thinkng about is on Hwy 501 naer the old Waccamaw factory stores.Yes, Bass Pro did open, that is on the North end of Myrtle Beach (about 20 miles north of where I live.) I finally got up there today to see for myself what they had.My husband has put a stop to my spending on the pop up for awhile, but I keep telling him it does not cost anything to look.
I will keep you posted if I hear anything.

Early this year, on the CW web site it listed Statesville area RV dealer as an Catalog store and CW repair shop. I also called the dealer when I was looking for a Barker electric jack. The guy said we have several and I could come up one Saturday and buy it. Later in the year that phone number and listing was removed from the web site. So I think it was then as a catalog store, but not really a retail outlet like Myrtle Beach or others. NOW it is coming for a real store with all the trimmings..
Thats around a 1&1/2 hour ride for us in central area of NC. Better than Myrtle Beach unless you are there..
Thanks for sharing Homecrew.. Hows that hybrid doing for you guys?
randy
Sure wish they'd open a Camping World in the St. Louis area!!!!

Hi Randy, We like it a lot. We need to get a better tow vehicle though so that we can actually go someplace that has altitude. The Pathfinder just isn't as powerful as I would like. Sometimes it feels like it's the dog getting wagged by the tail.:yikes:
The new camping world will be a little over an hour from us, which will hopefully keep the visits to a minimum.:D
