When asked I usually respond with "Ultra-Conservative". And here in California, that would make me a minor-minority.

Before I had children, I probably would have said "somewhere in the middle".  But now raising two small boys, and worrying about everything from video games to "you name it", and I would shout to the rooftops:

Conservative

Hey abbear, buddy, lighten up doood!  I think it's a good question.  Gives you an idea of the cross-section of people here.  I may not agree with someones opinion but I'll fight to the death to defend it.

NRA, God, Guts, and Blood CONSERATIVE.

Sorry, I disagree! The topic was started back in October of 2004 and we're all still typing back and forth and the weapons are still locked up!

It appears that a lot of people (myself included until now) voted without responding with a post. I'm against censorship in ANY form! But that's just my humble opinion!

Hey guys:

I guess eventually someone may come up with a wise crack and PO somebody, but I figure everyone in this country has a right to feel the way they do and they have a right to voice that opinion loud and clear.  That's why we have the country we have.  DW is a borderline liberal while I am squarely in the Christian conservative camp.  A lot of times she has voted for a Democrat while I have always gone republican.  It's what makes this country what she is.  I've never gotten angry over someone's differing political beliefs and never will.

Afterall, we all love camping in America. It just so happens some of us are liberals and some of us are conservatives.  I find this poll to be enlightening regardless how old it is and relish whatever educated debate it may precipitate but I certainly don't think it's worth a verbal civil war.

I can't think of a more stimulating camp fire conservation than friends with differing opinions trying to sway each other over to thier side.

Just my 2 cents
Russ

I was always told 3 things not to do:

1. Never talk about Religion with a group of people.
2. Never talk about politics with a group of people.
3. Never fish off the company pier. (Date women from work)

I was a liberal in my teen years, believed Uncle Walt and the 6 o'clock news.  Thought the war was unjust, yadda, yadda, yadda.  Ten years after that I owned a house in South America during a communist insurrection.  Two years after that I married an asian who set me straight, if I wasn't by that time.  Now you could call me an ultra-right-wing conservative.  But please, let me offer you a beer and hear your side of the issue! :usflag:

Im a traditional American Conservative who is sick of both major parties. We did our part and put Republicans in both Houses and they didnt do their jobs. They didnt listen to us. Now they're out. Good riddens.

I plan to support a 3rd party for the first time ever in the next election. Im watching the Constitution Party  (http://www.constitutionparty.com/) closely. They're still very young and very grass roots but their platform is closer to me than the 2 major parties.
