calstate360,
Question for you, I'm a new member to RPI and I see the Yosemite Lakes campground on the list of $8 a night campgrounds. I have a new pop-up with a wife and two kids. Can you tell me what side of the camp is best for a wooded experience and is also close enough to some kids activities?
Some of the pics I saw on the internet look nice.... So in short is this a great all-around campground and how far is Yosemite and the Kings Canyon from there?
Thx Matt in San Diego

Either side is close to the play area. The fenced in side is closer to the lodges, river, swimming hole and all the rest. Both sides have plenty of trees.
If you go to the Thousand Trails site,
http://www.thousandtrails.com/_vti_bin/minisitegen.cgi?preserve=163 you can see all the maps and info. It's only 5mi. outside Yosemite.
Any more questions just send me an e-mail.
Hope that helps.:)
