Hello everyone in popup land! I have been in the shadows of popup explorer for a short time. We just bought a 2004 Rockwood Freedom #2280 popup! We had our first outing last weeknd!
As I was online with "Explorer" this morning someone mentioned your site. I clicked over to see what was happening here. Im impressed. A large following of people who love to camp and have popups! We would like to join in also. We are fun loving, adventurous family of 3. Our hobbies are camping of course, photography and scrapbooking, stamping, surfing, riding the dunes, and restoring a 65' bug!
The 2005 rally sounds like great fun and it is very close to our home only 2.5 hours away! Hope to hear from you about more details on the rally soon.

Hi Freedom 5, check out the Pismo rally under the Western Rally 2005 forum. All the details are laid out for you. We are a great group of folks (if I do say so myself). We have a Southern California group and a Northern California group. You may also be interested in our Yosemite Rally the beginning of August. You can check out the info under the NNCNick-Neff-Cough (northern California forum). My husband and I have been camping with these groups since 2002. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. My 3 kids prefer to camp with our Popuptimes friends than anyone else. They are so board when we go alone.

Im going on tonight by saying I hope this was a hello message to us. I haven"t kept up with everyone to know if you meant us or not. Having said that, we used to live in Lancaster on ave. K off of Challenger way. We grew up in Torrance beach area. Now we are in the central valley. Go figure. At this rate the mountains will next.

We just moved to California from Arizona in December. Quite alot to get used to out here. We live around 40th west and J so I know exactly where you lived. Well, welcome to the site and maybe we'll eventually meet at a rally sometime.

Yep, we're all talking to you, Freedom! :) A little scary isn't it, having a bunch of people you've never met start chatting with you. Well, I can vouch for most of this bunch--they're a pretty good group of people, especially for having all met on the Internet!!! Not an axe-murderer among us
(at least that I know of...) ;) In all seriousness, welcome to the PUT boards!! Be sure to check out the
SCCampers and
NNC forums here, as someone is always camping somewhere. And I hope that if you ever get the urge to camp with a group, you'll feel comfortable in joining us. We've got some good sized rallies coming up and everyone is welcome! Conversely, if you've got a trip planned and want some comapny, post it here, and someone is usually up for camping get-away.:) Here's a few of our upcoming rallies:

Lori, Matt pulled out the little lantern you gave him last year and he said "Mommy, that boy Griffy gave this to me and I gave him my green shovel". I guess I better start shopping for this years toys. Just like Noah, I have to bring 2 of everything to avoid the brawl.:)

Kara was cleaning out her backpack yesterday and she brought me this paper folded in half (she made it at school at some point)and said "mom...we have to mail this to the Chris we're going to see in June" I opened it up and it says:
"I Miss You Chris and we are best friends"
it's things like this that makes your heart melt and and forget about how she was being a turd when it was time to go to school :p

We miss you guys too. I can't wait for Pismo. We are also going to be meeting Deidre up at Lake Sisiyou the second week of June. I am so glad we are able to still meet up with all our So Cal. friends. (warm fuzzy going on here).
I will start looking at Wally World for camping stuff. They always have the neatest stuff for the kids.

It is so great to just get into a new group of same minded people who have popup's and want to show off their ax's and not their ex's! I just got my latest copy up Popup times. The article on page 15 pretty much pertains to all of us. So much happens on the internet and we are just starting out with all of you to enjoy everyones company and enlarge our group of friends. I felt like this article was very timely with us being the new kids on the block and trying to fit into a new group of people.

You will be an old hand before you know it. Believe it or not our first official SC Camper rally was September 2002. Most of us had never met each other until then.. We have since moved up North and miss our So Cal. camping friends a lot. It is amazing the bond we all have together in such a short amount of time.

Moose and I regularly IM each other on AOL, and I was just saying to him yesterday that it feels like I've known him and Paula forever.
Who'da thunk we would have ever made such dear and wonderful friends and had such terrific times with a bunch of people we met on the Internet---exactly what I warn my 19 y/o DS about!!!! :)

how funny I never thought of it that way..I'm surprised Kevin didn't throw that in my face when I was giving him the "can't trust people on the internet" speech when he said he met a new "friend" and he was 12.
