Title: Coachman Clipper Campers vs. Coleman
Post by: scottskicooper on Jul 29, 2005, 09:00 PM

I am comparing a 2994 Coachman Clipper Pop up camper to a 2000 Coleman Pop Up.  The quality of construction appears to be better on the Coleman.  Can anyone offer any insight on a quality comparison or refer me to any publications that may do this.

There are some differences in brands, with one or two towards the bottom and an equal number towards the top, but from what I've seen the differences are relatively minor. The appliances are commodity items, so they're pretty much the same. And the PU does not represent a manufacturers "upper tier" product, so the quality of construction can be a bit spotty too. But, for the most part, they're fairly equal. How your dealer and the manufacturer treat the customers are were the major differences are IMHO.

I agree.  There's no comfort like a dealer who will stand behind the product, and no misery like a dealer who doesn't care about your problem.

All else being equal, buy the unit you like, or buy from the dealer you like.
