Particularly to miller tyme: All I can have is the brakes the wagon has WHICH ARE VERY NEW and the hydraulic surge brakes on the MXL. Is that all you have ever used to stop also just your vehicles brakes and the brakes on your MXL?
Of course I do recall i towed the 68 scotty camper I once had with my little dodge van with ONLY the vans brakes the scotty had none and I did did fine. What about you PLEASE?
Yep, as I stated in my previous posts, I've hauled the MXL with my Explorer, my F-150, and a Dodge Caravan. Surge brakes have been used for years on both camping trailers and boat trailers, so they are proven to be safe, if properly maintained. As I said, maybe have someone with knowledge of braking systems take a look at the system, just to be on the safe side to make sure everything's working right.
My first pop-up ('74 Venture) had no brakes, and we hauled it with the Dodge Caravan and the F-150. No problems with either tow vehicle.
