To conclude here one last time: I (well she and i, and our animals?) will be useing MY HUGE OLD: 1982 air conditioned cruise controlled, ford country squire wagon powered by a 302 v-8 engine with automatic overdrive trans with a very after market trans cooler, and the suspension the car came with (no doubt original) with a classII chassis mount hitch and 2 inch ball

My 1982 Palomino MXL (all mine) with surge brakes, in this case to and back from Florida. From you folks I have had total support/encouragement. Make sure your trailer tires are not dry rotted. Did you repack the wheel bearings? Every time you stop and get out of the TV put your hand on the axle hubs and make sure they are not HOT. They will be warm from the brakes, but you should be able to touch them. If they would be HOT you need to get the bearings/brakes checked. Have a good trip.:)
