Has anyone camped at this park? If you did, what are the sites like? What sites would you recommend for privacy? No need to be close to the bathroom.:)
I took my girl scout troop to Killens Pond 3 years ago. We really liked it. It has electric and water while still having that state park feel. Nice large sites. There is an outdoor water park for younger kids (I would say under 12 yrs.) free ;) if you are camping in the park. It's a bit of a walk or a 5 min. drive. There is also a large lake with paddle boats $.
we camped there, we like it and will go back, i don't remember the sites by number, but they are spread out nicely, and they are large.
Can't add much to what has been said...large sites, electric and water, sites are shaded (in the summer), good fishing in the pond (need a license above the spillway). Canoe and paddleboat rentals available.
Here's a link to Killens Pond (http://www.destateparks.com/kpsp/kpspcamping.htm) if you haven't found it yet.
We like C- or D-Loops on the pond side of the loop, and may go down about the 22nd of March for our first outing of the year.
HTH.
