Title: AM FM CD Player
Post by: Buzzard on Mar 14, 2006, 06:28 PM
I was wanting to add a radio to my pu. I was wondering what people used as an antenna since theres really not a thin piece of metal (like a fender mount ) to ground it to. Maybe a marine antenna? Thanks,Buzzard

You could always take a piece of metal or aluminum and bend it in a L shape bracket. Cut a hole in it to accept the antenna on one side of the L and mount the other side of the L somewhere on the PU.

Unless the side walls of your camper are fibreglass, a "universal" AM-FM type of car antenna should perform quite well.
This is the style of antenna that is on the roof of my hybrid.
I would suggest installing it in proximity to where the radio will be mounted, so you won't have to add an extension cable to the coax.

Best of luck
