Post by: GrizzlyTaco on Mar 18, 2006, 08:40 PM
Here is a good reciepe for the camp site. Make it ahead of time and leave in plastic bags in your cooler til ready to use and broil it at your camp site, this smells sooo good cooking.

Carne Asada Marinade

3    tbsp. Lemon Juice
1   tsp. Salt
1 1/4      tbsp.  Cumin
1/2   tsp. Black pepper
2   tbsp. Paprika
3   tbsp. Chili powder
1 1/2   tbsp. Dried oregano
1   Bunch cilantro (chopped)
1/4   cup Franks Red Hot sauce
3/4   cup Olive or Canola oil
   Crushed Red Peppers (optional)

Mix all ingredients and pour over Beef, Chicken, or Shrimp.
For chicken or beef, let marinate over night. For shrimp, only

We love carne asada.  Will have to try this at home since we aren't camping till the end of June

I'm glad you liked it, when I make it I add more heat to mine by adding cayanne pepper, or Chalula, i like spicy food.......

I didn't have the right hot sauce so I used about 10 dashes of Tabasco and it worked well.  I am a wimp when it comes to heat and so are my kids.  Less is best for 4 out of 5 in my family.
