In the "old" forum, the chat room didn't operate correctly from a Macintosh computer. If this is still the issue, I would not be able to join in.
There is a weekly pop-up chat on IRC. I'm there every Monday, and we have a handful of people there. Because it's IRC, a client can be had for any platform, Win, Mac, Linux, etc.
