Title: Bristol, TN- Any suggestions?
Post by: newtothis on Jul 31, 2006, 02:32 PM
Hi- Headed to Bristol for the August 2006 race and would like to camp somewhere with a fun, lively atmosphere close to the track. Does anyone have suggestions? This will be our first time camping, just got our first pop-up last week. Thanks.

There is an on site campground, you can check them out at Thundervalleycampground.com . Their is the Bristol/Kingsport KOA that is nice. Warriors Path State Park in Kingsport is very nice. Hope this helps.

Only one place..... Farmer Bob's. It's a bit of a walk to the track but it's the only campground that I have ever seen with a mechanical bull in action!!!!!! http://www.farmerbobcampground.com/

Although I haven't stayed there myself I have heard there are some wild times over at the Red Barn Campground. http://www.homestead.com/redbarncampground/

We stayed at Thundervalley campground at the spring race and it was terrible. The barely give you enough room for a 8ft'er and a TV. We had to cheat and camp by the hill just to heve enough room to build a campfire.
