coleman yosemite with hydraulic roof lift system.
charged and instaled the deep-cell battery to lift the roof for first use this year, no soap. tried shore and trailer hitch connection, have driving lights, no lift.
looking at the battery/connections from the tongue, facing the camper,
have main red/black leads on the left side. Convention says red to positive/black to negative. There are a number of secondary connections onthe right, convention from AC circuits say white to positive, black to negative. hooking them up in this fashion gave sparks, and smoking from the terminals. can't get to the power converter due to a cooler in the way, one that needs the roof up to move. any thoughts?
talked to the fleetwood dealer and (hopefully) got my answer
main buss wiring (thick cable), red to positive. black to negative
accessory wiring (thin cable), black to positive, white to negative
That's correct, Black pos - White neg.. Sorry that one of us didn't get back to you sooner. :(
This was my 1st time online since Friday.
