So we went through a HUGE storm last weekend and I found that there is a small pinhole in the roof of the bunkend on our 2003 Coleman. The material seems to be vinyl on the outsie and, I'm guessing, Sunbrella on the inside.
Any suggestions on what to use to pactch the leak? Should the patch go inside or outside?
All in all the PUP weathered the storm just fine except for this one small leak. It's been rained on before with no issue, but I guess 3 hours of solid downpour was too much.
I have taken RV goop and put just a little dap on the pinhole and let it dry. You can put it on the outside or inside, it doesn't matter. I probably would put it on the outside due to the roof being vinyl and it wouldn't show as much. Has worked for me, and it has worked on tears and larger holes too. RV Goop will not yellow and is really great stuff. Good luck.
As a fly fisherman who wades cold mountain streams, I can tell you that a leak in my waders will ruin the day! The best solution I've found for leaking waders is a product called "Aquaseal" ~

If this stuff can plug-up leaking waders, with all the strecting and abuse, then stopping a pinhole leak in the popup canvas top, should be like a day in the country; I've never known the stuff to fail. Just make sure the surface is clean when applied, i.e., follow the directions.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll try the RV Goop first since I've had pretty good luck with other "goop" products.
Hope this works and ends the Chinese Water Torture....or I could just make the dear girlfriend sleep on that side of the bunk ;)
We use Aqua Seal for scuba stuff and I use Goop for the PU. I would go with the Goop. I am sure that both would work, but Goop is easier to work with and easier to find.:)
