We just took our pop-up out for the 2nd time. This trip was to Ventura, CA. It didn't rain but lots of condensation from the marine climate.
I had water leaking down through the center strip on the interior ceiling. This is the plastic strip which holds the wiring for the ceiling lights. Anyway, I believe it must be the center seam on the roof that's leaking, I did notice that a little water was pooling between the center seam and the A/C unit.
I've read other posts in here on similar problems but would like any other input. The caulking does look kind of cracked and showing age from lots of sun I presume.
Can I try to get some silicone sealant from Lowe's and run it along the aluminum strip or do I need to take the strip off, scrape off the old caulking before I put on new caulk? Doesn't sound fun... I'd like to get away with adding new silicone over the old if possible.
Thx!
I can't solve your problem, but we have our popup serviced by South Coast RV Repair. Brett used to work for a Jayco dealer who closed. He's reasonable, makes house calls and guarantees his work. His number is 714-531-6600.
