Title: Prayer request for newborn baby
Post by: cyclone on Dec 18, 2006, 09:18 PM
Hi all - I don't make it a habit of asking, but if you could all say a prayer tonight I would really appreciate it.  A college friend of mine was thrilled to become a first-time grandma on Dec. 7.  On Saturday her son went to check on the baby and found him not breathing.  CPR was successful and he is now in ICU and fighting for his life.  Apparently he has an infection (a form of e. coli) and as of 6:00 tonight, the prognosis wasn't good.  Any and all prayers are greatly appreciated by the family.  Please pray for baby Xavier.  Thanks!

They have all been added to our prayer list.  I'm glad you asked us. Lots of prayers are a good thing.

Slight update as of 10 a.m. today - he made it through a "quiet" night and is stable.  The doctors have ordered another MRI and EEG - they are extremely concerned about the damage that may have occurred, and will assess after those tests.  Keep those prayers coming - the family is very grateful for them.

My neighbor's two-month old premie had the same problem.  She's getting stronger, and with God's help, Xavier will too.  Another prayer for him from me....

Another update:  (cut/paste from the email I just got).  Please, keep those prayers coming.

Dear Friends,

It does not look good. Xavier has not changed and the doctors are concerned.

We need prayers for hope and guidance now more than ever.

Thank you all for your past and future prayers, words and thoughts.

Our prayers are with Xavier and his family as well.
As a parent of a 21 month old, I can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through.
This brought tears to my eyes.

All our best,
Dave

Thank you all for your prayers.  Sadly, the damage was just too great and this precious little baby passed away last night.  I simply cannot imagine having to make the decisions his young parents have had to deal with.  Please hug your children tonight.

Our prayers are still with his parents and family.  No parent should have to bury a child, ever.

This kind of news makes me very grateful that, except for an early miscarriage, we can still hug all our children and our only grandchild (so far).

Our prayers are certainly with this young couple. As AB so rightly said, "No parent should have to bury a child". I can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through. They just have to have the faith that God knows what is best for the child.

Thanks for the update.  Continued prayers from my family.  Losing a child brings on the most unimaginable pain to all involved ~ I pray time will heal theirs.
