I've seen a few of those in use. Personally, I don't like the idea of anything that encourages other drivers to tailgate (in order to try to read the message). Most would wait for a stop light or something, but the ones who would pull four feet from your bumper at highway speeds are also likely the worst drivers out there to begin with (and need new glasses).

I saw one bumper sticker in the '70's that said:

If you can read this, you're too damn close!

The text was in about a six point font and the sticker was full sized.

There are states where that will get you in serious trouble. But it was SOP in Massachusetts. After a while, nobody who actually had a license any more tailgated there.
