Title: battery wiring question
Post by: dkutz on Jan 30, 2007, 10:28 PM
Ok brought home our new (to us) 94 starcraft.  After rewiring the plug I go the lights to work so I could tow it home safely.  BUT there is a po and neg lead from the trailer battery that is I guess to charge the battery while driving.  I only have a flat four plug on the trailer and on the car, with the tralier battery the trailer has 5 wires.  So does the red lead go with the running light wire?  THis way the battery would charge only with lights on correct?

You need a separate (fused) hot wire to charge your battery. You can't charge the battery off of your lights, it will blow the fuse.

I haven't purchased from them. I just ran across this website with the diagrams and saved the link to pass on to people that might find it useful.
