Title: Anyone Around in Washington State?
Post by: tommyboy on Mar 14, 2007, 05:31 PM
What a cool state we have to pop-up camping...I have a 2003 Colemen Utah.  Love it.  My parents belong to the Thousand Trails resorts in Washington and Oregon, so we enjoy going those places.  But this year we are going to be doing a lot more 3-4 day runs.  So I am wondering if anyone has some insight on Washington, and the best places.  Not a huge fan of dry camping, would want parks with at least power....Does anyone know of any clubs in Washington where folks do some get togethers for camping?

Thanks,

Tommyboy

I live in Yelm and usually camp in the State campgrounds as I can do this for free.  All of the campgrounds I have stayed in were very nice.  There are some that I would shy away from as far as some sites but the overall is great.

Until two years ago when we relocated to Nebraska, my husband and I (we were located in Auburn too!) totally enjoyed camping in Washington. The state park system has a great website so that you can look at the campground set-ups, and a brief description of each camp site.

Our particular favorites were Ike Kinswa, Grayland Beach, and Wenberg State Parks.

Klaloch campground on the coast is one of our favorites on the Olympic Peninsula.  Reservations are a good idea during the tourist season.
