Title: South of the Border
Post by: GeneF on Apr 23, 2007, 02:14 AM
From the road, you would most likely just keep on going past this place.

For miles and miles you see large signs for South of the Border and the mascot Pedro.  Looks like a tourist's nightmare.

However, the cg is in the back of all this and is a parking lot but a nice place for an overnight or a couple of nights if you want to tour the area abit.

Sites are full hookup and run $18 a night.  Bathrooms are very clean and fairly modern.  Campground is gated.

We have stayed here a couple of times for one nighters.  I do suggest you call ahead to see if they have any sights available.

Popular place for people going to and from Florida.

We've stopped there on each of our Florida trips that we drove, but we weren't camping.  I didn't realize their campground might be so inexpensive.  At $18 for full hookups, we'd consider staying there for a travel break while towing.  What does full hookups entail?  W/E/S?

Yes.

A lot of the sites are pull thru for bigger rigs.

From the road I did just keep on going, Gene!  LOL

We were on our way from Raleigh/Durham to Myrtle Beach and not camping ... didn't even consider stopping!   Glad it worked for you ~ it's nice to find those little gems for overnighters ... especially the ones with clean bathrooms!
