No. The propane from the small tanks is unregulated, so the heater has to deal with regulating it (or not needing it to be regulated.

The MrBuddy Heater has an built in internal regulator and will take care of whatever pressure there is in a re-fillable propane tank. Just be sure you use the proper connection line to the main tank (best to go with the MrBuddy hose, that way you know for sure) and make certain the connection is tight ... AND ... there is a grommet like "washer" that fits at the very top of the unit where the usual 16oz disposable tank is screwed into that ensures a tight fit. Make certain that grommet/washer is in place when you go for the optional hose hook-up to a re-fillable tank. In fact, I would suggest first trying it out OUTSIDE before using on the interior of the camper. One other point; when using the hose connection to the main tank, shut the heater off at the main tank, i.e., do not shut the unit off at the unit ... shut off the valve and let the heater burn all the remaining propane out of the line.
As I always do ... I harp on the danger of fire when going with this type of radiant heater.

We really like our "Mr Buddy". I have a 10' extension hose that runs out the same hole as our electrical cord. I use a separate propane tank for the heater.
Shutting the tank off and letting the gas burn off in the heater is a good idea. It keeps you from having to smell the rotten egg smell.
The heater should have an internal regulator if it runs off of the small tanks.:)
