Just got back from our first official trip (it was great). Had an issue with our PUP turn signals though. Each time I pressed the signal (either direction) it would blink once and then nothing. So if I was exiting the highway I would have to move my turn signal up and down manually so that traffic would know I was exiting. All of the electrical connections do everything they are supposed to except for this one glitch. When the PUP is unplugged the turn signals work fine on the van. Any ideas? Thanks.
Sounds like you don't have a good ground to the popup. Also, it will do this if one bulb or more are burned out, but I see that you checked it.
The "flasher" in your tow vehicle may be failing also. They are usually under the dash, easy to replace, and cheap.

Does your TV have individual brake and turn signals? If it does you will need an isolation diode pack sometimes referred to as a 3 bulb to 2 bulb converter. It plugs into the TV harness. The other possibility is you may need a heavy duty flasher. Both of these can be found where towing equipment is sold.
Check with your dealer on whether you need to replace the flasher module (they just plug in) with a heavy-duty one when towing. It sounds to me like the module is deciding there is a short in your turn signal lamps. It could be that it is being "tricked" by the trailer lamps. Back in the "old days" this was a common problem.

Time for a heavy duty flasher!
