We just returned from our first camping trip of the year. We stayed 3 nights at Guajome County Park in Oceanside Ca.
We had a great time. Since the CG is only 15 minutes from the beach we took our boys, Kevin (8) & Trevor (5) twice. They had a blast!
Kevin went boogie boarding while Trevor played in the surf and dug in the sand. They were so worn out that they asked to go to bed at night.
I recommend sites 23,25,27,29,31 & 32. These offer the most seclusion.
This is a good family CG. There is a small lake & playground.
Happy Camping!
Eric
Here we go............
Hehehehehe!!! We have a property about 10 minutes from there (Fallbrook). I get the "Itch" to go camping every time that we pass Guajome :p
The wife and I really do like that campground. Although I understand that some people don't, I'm not sure why that is.
A few years ago we had a site reserved, my kids found out about it and what time we had planned on arriving. They got there before us and decorated the site for my birthday party. It was a wonderful surprise.

It is a nice campground but you know how it is........some places bug certain people and they don't bug others.
I say if the place doesn't bug you and it has a nice atmosphere.....it's a great place. :D
When the camping bug bites, we love going to Guajome! We went camping there last year with a bunch of good friends but they were a bit more spotty about the cg than we were. I guess peoples' tastes are different...;)
If you had sites 1-12, I can understand why. They are too close. As for the bugs, I got a few mosquito bites. Being from the East coast and spending 3 years in the Philippines, that was nothin'. My sons didn't have any.

I'd say it's the bugs' tastes that are different!
I'd go again!
OK !!!! Enough! A bunch of us camped there a while back and got the crap bit out of us! Mosquito's, chiggers, whatever it was it sucked. I had 44 bites on my legs, it itched like crazy!
