Title: MA - Wells State Park
Post by: fourkids on Jul 22, 2007, 01:49 PM
Just got back from Wells SP this weekend.  It was great.  No hook ups but very nice clean sites (some right on the lake), a great beach area (very clean & actually sandy), fishing, boating, lots of hiking.  What we all loved about this place was how clean, quiet, and very peaceful it was (it was sold out this weekend too).  If you are looking for a "get back to nature" trip this is the place.  Mostly tents and PUPs, with a hand full of hard sided campers.  Restrooms very clean with hot showers as well.  Staff very friendly & attentive.

Looks like a great base for visiting Old Sturbridge Village.  Have you (or any members) been there?  Thanks for writing!

Glad to hear that this is a nice place.  We will be staying there on Friday night.  It's our stopping point on the way to Maine, so we won't be using many of the amenities.  But we don't want to stay in a junky place, even for a single night.
